Why is a human child so unique ?
Not only are new parents most concerned about the overall health of their baby, but they also very often wonder what the gender, skin tone, birth weight and delivery time will be. The most important part we need to check is the newborn’s head circumference, which can be performed using a measuring tape. Devices are used to check the diameter of an infant’s head so that brain growth can be followed.

With few exceptions, head circumference correlates to size and growth of the brain in the first few years (which is when the majority of the growth happens).
